Editing and proof reading

My next book, which currently doesn’t have a title, will be a short history of the Falklands War. It’s close to being complete. This was going to be my first book, but I got writer’s block, and wrote Weapons and Equipment of the US Army instead. I also uploaded some articles that I’d originally written for the SOTCW Journal to Smashwords.

The book is written, but needs editing and proof-reading. I’ve discovered that I don’t like editing nearly as much as actual writing. It’s very important, of course, but unfortunately it’s also tedious and boring. The temptation to start research on the next book instead is very strong, but I’m valiantly trying to resist. My wife has offered to proof-read it, and I intend to take her up on that offer – she’s very good at spotting errors, and I know she’ll be brutally honest if she feels she needs to be.

I may also look for people to beta-read it for me. If you’d be interested in being a beta reader, please e-mail me.
